the IE browser has been programmed to detect whether a pop-up or pop-under window is unwanted if it doesn't directly result from the customer's clicking on a link on a Web page
So that's ok if a customer clicks on an affiliate link going to a "_blank" page, but it will stop automatic pop ups etc..

I must admit I think it's ok, I never like pop ups when I'm surfing anyway and I use the Google toolbar and Alexa toolbar with the pop ups stopped.

I'm sure there will be a way to code around the IE blocking with some careful javascript.

There are lots of ways round popup blocks. But I dislike them and I assume from the popularity of popup stoppers so do others.

I have been advising all my clients (my web design customers not NI customers ) not to use pop-ups for about a year now because popup blockers have been on the increase. It's pertty easy not to use them.

The new TD layout had better be changed then - messages such as "your password is being emailed to you" are in automatic pop-up form now.
