    Morning all,

Running P4 with winXP just purchased it, and already starting to get really annoying pop ups every 5 mins. Any quick way I can get rid of these work interferers.

    Cheers

    Have a good day.

Why not delete whatever it is you've installed that's giving you them or install the google toolbar as that has a pop up blocker option.

I'm guessing you let windows update itself with all the security stuff at the windows update site?
The last two times I've done this the machine has been infected while installing the updates.
Procedure for new machines is now, install OS, install firewall and anti-virus, then update.
If your anti-virus and anti spyware utilities don't get rid of the problem check through your start up processes here:
    http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.php

And all your background processes here:

There's a good startup manager here to make it easier next time:

    Hope that helps...
