Stop funding the Unethical Networks from supporting Scumware even further!

Heres a hyperthetical example of how this will help the cause for all merchants and afiliates.

    - Say 10000 sales are acheived for Merchant X, scumware has 10% of those sales. But the unethical network gets an override of all those sales.

    - Unethical Network Z gets override on 1000 sales.

    - But Swapping links to an ethical network, yes scumware may still get 10% but then the Unethical Network Z will only get an override of 10% of sales losiing out on 90% of revenue.

    It hurts the networks pockets

Translating in another way by cold hard cash

    - Say £1 million in commission is generated by the scumware (for merchants where links can be used on another ethical network. )

    - The unethical network receives approximately a 30% override of £10 million equating to £3 million (£10million would be a combination of scumware and all affiliates)

    - But Swapping links to an ethical network, yes scumware may still get £1 million but the unethical network now only gets £300k losing out on £2.7 million.

This is just one scenario amongst many how swapping links will assist in protecting all our interests, and using some financial leverage to move the cause forward.

I presume the above is to merchants, as there won't be many affiliates willing to lose money by stopping linking and hoping that all merchants move to another network. It would need big affiliates to demo. I've been reading all the threads on it but to be honest it's all a big muddle. One day of action would do it, but even one day a month can be a lot of money for some but might be worth it.

I've not seen which programs are supporting the scumware, people say TD are the biggest supporter but no one has mentioned which programs allow TD to accept their site for which affiliate. It seems like it's a vicious circle.

Even with the explanation above I got confused, the money one I can understand better, but still it's the big affiliates that can make the difference. If these networks allow spyware to use their links, then why don't the merchants move elsewhere because it's costing them money and they obviously wouldn't want spyware to be used against them.

I've seen the video evidence, surely the affiliate number is in the links, so why does it take TD so long to remove these affiliates which are illegally promoting their merchants?

It seems simple to me, any spyware companies posing as affiliates get removed from the networks, leaving spyware companies to set up their own affiliate networks and merchants to sue the spyware companies for 'trespassing' on their property. If I had a shop and someone fly posted it whilst I was open and came into the shop advertising offers from another next door, then there would be a bit of trouble.

The affiliate networks can't possibly lose money, because what they're doing at present must be illegal and they're surely open to multi million pound law suits for being associatied in the crimes the spyware is committing. You talk of £10,000,000 and £3,000,000 in revenue, yet TD are leaving themselves open to similar payments in court costs when they eventually lose for aiding the spyware in their illegal activities.

A vicious circle which is quite easy to break when you consider all TD have to do is wake up to the fact that they can either allow affiliates their right to earn money in the correct manner by not allowing others to come in and steal their revenue through cookie changes, browser slamming and ad pinching.

QGJ is talking about those merchants who are already on two networks. If you are linking to them on the unethical network then link to them on the ethical one instead.

You will still get your commission, but the unethical network will lose the override on that commission - so they will be taking a huge reduction in income.

I am basically making sure that for all new sites, and any updates I do on old sites, I only use the ethical networks now.

I appreciate the hard work everyone doing to get this all sorted - and am doing what I can, when I can.

I hope that it makes a difference.

    Thankyou
