    Hi all

I came across this site and thought it might be a good place to generate some ideas.

I'm a director for a niche recruitment company in the UK. We sell leads to network marketers and network marketing companies. As such, we have a large database coming up in the new year to around 1 million records. These records consist of email add's, addresses and phone numbers. Our demographic is as a whole, unemployed, part time workers and people generally looking for some extra cash.

In light of all this I've done a little research around affiliate marketing and certain sectors within it that might create a new revenue stream from our database, which in turn has led me here.

I'm aware of companies such as Clickbank who clearly have a load of products such as make money surveys etc which could easily work within the demographic we have. However, I'm also aware we aren't by any means experienced within this field, and in turn, a little apprehensive.

I'd love all your thoughts on whether you think there might be some synergy with the database we have and this field, and the big question of course. What sector would make us the most money?

We are also open to the suggestion of JV's

    Ok,

How did you generate the leads? Are they Double-OptIn, Brought etc.

Basically you got a list of people that don't work and are more then likely tight on cash.

Therefore your looking for a cheap product with high comms - one company springs to mind 'Groupon'.

How much would it cost for a solo ad to 100k of them?

It seems a little out of order to take a list of people who have signed up for the purpose of employment and then use/rent/sell their details for an entirely different purpose. Do you have their authority to carte blanche email them any old crap?

Sorry if this seems a little harsh in response to your question but I speak as someone who has never opted in to 99% of the daily s**** that gets posted to my email address and I find it offensive that my details have been misused. This would be doubly infuriating if those details also included posting my phone number into the public domain!

Get locked up for spamming is certainly an option.

If you're not offering "what they signed up for" then you're spamming them.

Both replies are very true, thats why I ask are they opt-in emails or have you just brought them from somewhere?

There is a difference between a VC saying signup to offers an discounts and sending just that, and signup for career advice and blasting them with offers, first off your see that list drop very quickly and your prob get slapped by the email client.

I suppose if it was career advice and you sent them to reed.co.uk, which paid on every account signup that might be ok.

Also if you look ( but only if you do and read it ) you will see that the law says that sending one email to a person that you don't know is not spam as long as that person has the option not to receive further messages from you.
