I remember talking to someone from Sky on here months ago, does anyone know someone who works for Sky that's on here regularly?

I know they will more than likely be on the affiliate side of things, but I on to their live support a few weeks ago and got told that I won't be charged for a call out, and what happens? I get charged €130. Joke of a company.

    Anyone able to help?

No, it was about my Sky box that wasn't working anymore. (TV)

I have the whole chat that I had with Skys employee along with a screenshot of the person telling me that there will be no charge. I need this sorted out asap.

I'm pretty sure it'll be pointless contacting those who work at Sky on here as they'll work in a different building probably in a different postcode and I expect they won't know anybody from the support team!

Have you tried the Digital Spy Forums? - Satellite - Digital Spy Forums

Might be more help than here!

    Hi there,

We have a Sky Affiliate Team at Affiliate Window and we would be happy to offer any assistance or point you in the right direction. Can you send us a private email at Sky@affiliatewindow.com with the details, or send me a message with your email address?

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Thanks for the offer

I'll give the Twitter team a chance though before I contact you. Hopefully they'll sort it out.

The Tv is working alright but sky have robbed €130 from us.

Someone that works with Sky told us that they always do this (even when they say that they won't charge) in the hope that you won't realise that they've took the money. Crazy.

They should not charge you unless the box is out of warranty or they found an error with you internal wiring or dish setup?

What was the problem in the end?

It was out of warranty, however I argued that we've been with Sky for 8 years or whatever and never got any special offers (no free skysports/movies for a few months etc) so they agreed to waive the charges. (but they ended up charging)

I've a picture of them saying that along with a huge chat I had with them.

To be honest I'm not sure what was the problem, think the box just died.

They are a bit of a pain in the arse once your already a customer when it comes to replacing boxes or anywhere near matching the great deals they give to new customers.

It amazes me sometimes after being such a long lived customer - youd have thought that after 8 years of being a punter they would cut you some slack to retain your custom.

Yeah I know! They wouldn't waive the charges at the start but after a while they agreed to it.(even though they ended up charging) Anyway, they've told me that they'll refund the charge in the next week, hopefully they will.

When i worked for sky 2 years ago, it was always a standard £65 call-out charge, but this included a free sky+ box if there was a problem with it. Not sure of the policy now with there only being the HD+ 500 gig and 1tb boxes that cost more...
