We are well into the new year now and I'm interested to see what products are selling well?

New year is huge for us in the health/weight loss niche.

I'm guessing payday loans/finance is big this time of year with people recovering from the christmas/new year retail rush

So what's hot for you right now?

It's interesting how many companies have sprung up in the last year offering pay day loans. Back in the day they used to call them loansharks - have they legalised it?

The year before it was cash for gold...
The year before that it was mis sold PPI...

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same companies behind the lot.

I wouldn't say they are the "next big thing", but you do tend to get a new hot trend every year or 2. It's just a case of knowing where to look, doing your research and then jumping in with both feet before others catch on. I've just spotted what could well be the next one and the signs are looking very good after just 2 weeks

Its just a case of knowing where to look

    Hi there Findlite,

You are right ... the market place is rather saturated but I wholly believe that there is a huge amount of opportunity left in this sector.

Payday loans is the fastest growing affiliate scheme around at the moment delivering a huge earnings potential. Affiliates of ours are easily earning 5 figure sums each month.

With approximately £300 million being lent each month with an average loan size of around £300 it is not hard to see the enormity of the potential with over a million successful applications each month.

I happened to be speaking with some very experienced US lead gens a couple of weeks back at the LAC affiliates conference and the estimation (word on the street) is that the UK market is only at 10% saturation at present ... this makes for very exciting and lucrative times ahead.

I would be extremely keen to chat with you RE your experiences etc ... could you kindly drop me an email on keiran@phoenixpersonalfinance.co.uk

    Lol, typical. £2.50 on a 2500% loan (£300 x 2500% = £750 interest/profit = 0.33% affiliate commission)

Well we are currently paying at least £14 on Quid till payday So its not always as bad as that.

The reason there is such a variation on commission is down to the type of campaign it is, as some are direct campaigns and some are just brokered out.

But getting back to Andy's original point finance is still working well from Loans through to PPI.

We are also seeing gambling campaigns particularly Bingo are working very well still as our campaigns such as Groupon, cashback and freebie type campaigns.

Looks like we chose some good verticals to specialise in !

I can't see how someone can step into the pay day loan niche now and do well, there must be hundreds of pay day loan sites out there now which you can see by doing a simple Google search, keyword search and checking domain names. Can't see how you'd be able to get even onto page 1 with the competition.

    Hi there,

Thank you for raising this poignant question.

You are indeed right the market is incredibly active at the moment but I would be reluctant to say it is saturated.

Currently there are £300 Million pounds lent every month with an average loan size of £300 ... This equates to 1 Million successful applications each month.

Baring in mind that a lender will only actually underwrite 40/60% of the applications that it purchases you can then assume 2 million leads being purchased every month.

To answer you concerns RE SEO and page one, rest assured that a large proportion of these leads are generated through many other channels including SMS, email, PPC, blogs, banners and so on. We have SMS affiliates earning 5 figure sums every month consistently.

Another flabbergasting fact being reported from the industry gurus in the US is that the UK market is at only 10% of saturation. Baring in mind this fact the opportunity for affiliates to cash in on Payday loans is very much alive and kicking.

If I can be of help in anyway please email me anytime at keiran@phoenixpersonalfinance.co.uk

Well t-shirts always do very well and so does jewellery but then I am biased as I work merchants in both sectors.
One thing that is massive right now (height of season) is buying second hand cars from the public (C2b program) and I am happily launching an affiliate program in that sector soon.
