How do the likes of Compare Mobile Phones, Deals & Contracts - Mobile Phone Comparison Site or Voted best hotels comparison website, compare cheapest hotel rates get their comparison info that they display on their sites?

Do they scrape the data using PHP, .Net etc from the retailers sites or do they use feeds provided by the affiliate schemes of the individual companies or do they use something else?

If the scrape the data how do they combine this with the affiliate info of the merchant?
