    Does anyone know why I could have gone from no sitemap errors to 758 500 errors on Google Webmaster Tools in the last 3 days? I've done random checks on the Wordpress tags included as 500 errors and they all open correctly on Wordpress so I'm not sure what it is referring to. They all say 500 error and the linked from column says 'unavailable'.

    Cheers

    I've redone my sitemap and it has removed all the Wordpress tags and simply used the pages that are on my site and cut the submitted URLs from 508 to 93 so hopefully this should do the trick. Also thankful to xml sitemaps for showing me I had 5 broken links I didn't know about. £3.50 well spent.

    If you're having problems with the blog on the site in your sig, then it's returning a 500 server error for every page (which is also how Google will see your site). You'll still see the pages in a browser because WP turns off error reporting up to a point.

    e.g. for http://www.tcworkouts.com/blog/

    Header response:

    HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2012 12:17:12 GMT Server: Apache/2 X-Pingback: http://www.tcworkouts.com/blog/xmlrpc.php X-Powered-By: W3 Total Cache/0.9.2.4 Set-Cookie: stats=COOKIEREPLACED; expires=Tue, 24-Jan-2012 15:17:12 GMT Vary: User-Agent Connection: close Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

    <edit>
    I suggest removing the W3 total cache, or, switching it to basic caching.
