Gatwick to Novotel Hammersmith

Can anyone post details of the easiest way to get to Novotel West London in Hammersmith from Gatwick. I am presuming the Gatwick Express to Victoria and then either taxi or tube. Any advice would be appreciated. Will be arriving at Gatwick at around 8:30am tomorrow if that is relevant.

gatwick express runs every 15 mins or so - get it from gatwick to victoria, and then get the district line to Hammersmith (about 15 mins)

any train from gatwick to clapham junction then overground to olympia (about 8 mins). Novotel is a short walk south from olympia mainline - should be faster than using the underground.

there is a direct service from gatwick to olympia but I think it only runs 2x an hour
