    Hi,

Recently just started a small campaign using some free credit I had..so thought what the hell lets give it a go! I'm very new to the AdWord's world as very hesitant to spend money on something I'm not confident with and still trying to learn how to get traffic organically!

The AdWord's team have contacted me via email asking me to contact them as I have a 6 week free period, as they apparently have looked at my campaign and would like to discuss improvements they think I can make. They have quoted some figures from my campaign but these are not accurate.

Is this worth while..do they genuinely care? or are they going to try and get me to spend more money with them?

In our experience Google's offers to "optimise" your campaign will result in just one thing - more money for Google, without any significant increase in your profits.

If the Google people professing to be experts at PPC were actually any good at it, they wouldn't be working for someone else, would they?

    Seriously, don't bother with it.

What you will find with so called "Google guru's" is that they are employees for a reason. Generic, one size fits all answers and no REAL incite.

If you want a good crash course in how to run a PPC account well you could do far worse than sign up for Micheal's affiliate marketing school above: The Affiliate Marketing School - Home

Your far better of finding a good HM up there and having a chin wag, you'll learn the hints and tips no one else will give you!
Brilliant..exactly the answers I was looking for! Thanks a lot guys

In a former life I used to work for one of the "big" comparison sites and we had a couple of the Google guys in. They would work directly with the "search" team and would also give the odd training session to people around the company - including myself.

I can only say that they proved to be a useful resource, they were nice guys and knew Adwords inside out. Happy to answer any queries and help us get the most out of something that made the company a tonne of money. Particularly useful when we were building automated systems to measure profitability at a keyword level.

Of course Google are supplying this service to encourage use, but as in any business relationship both sides need to feel they are getting a good deal.

So if they do their job right you'll be happy to spend money with them, Google gets more revenue and so do you. Just make sure your profit increases though, no point spending a load of money just to increase turnover!

There's no harm in speaking to them on the phone and going through their suggestions. As mentioned they will know the system well and even if they can't really optimise things they may help you use the interface or desktop tools more effectively.

As Michael says though, do not let them loose on the campaign unsupervised! Let them make suggestions over the phone while you are logged in. That way you can ensure nothing gets messed up.

I'm getting chased at the moment about this - it tends to occur a few times a year, always from a different person. This is where it gets annoying. Every time they give free consultations they seem to forget you spoke to someone only a few months back.

Just got a phone call from them today as well..... they must be doing some sort of push on this at the moment.

I agree with the others, just say no!
