    Afternoon all,

I work with Aarti at Figleaves, and as she's away today, I think its a good opportunity to both introduce myself and inform you all about the delivery charges Figleaves will be introducing from tomorrow.

As you might be aware, Figleaves have previousy offered free delivery regardless of order value, but from tomorrow we are going to charge for delivery under a certain order value to be in line with indusrty standards (in fact, these charges are very reasonable compared with some sites!)

    - Orders in the UK below £25 will have a £2.95 delivery charge
    - Orders in the US below $30 will incur a $3.95 delivery charge.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

what about the free returns? The question is for full return and part goods return?

if its free returns, won't people simply order above £25 then send it back - like they do on mail order to avoid costs?

more of a consumer question, than an affiliate

    Thx

    Helen

    Good question Helen.

Out of interest, does the affiliate earn commission on the delivery charge?

    Hi Helen,

Free returns is something we are still offering (UK only) and if a customer decides to return part or all of their order, we will not be charging for delivery as long as the original order value was above the threshold.

On your point regarding what some people do on mail-order to avoid delivery charges, I would like to think that most of our customers would act in good faith but as you say, this may not always be the case. The reason why we introduced a delivery charge below an order threshold was that it was so uneconomical to send packages for small orders, and this move is will help us recoup some of that loss in most of the cases (notwithstanding those unscrupulous types you speak of!).

Charging for delivery below the £25 ($30 US) order value should also increase some basket sizes meaning more commission for affiliates

Gree2k - Affiliates will not earn commission on the delivery charge I'm afraid.

Thanks for your reply, however i think you need to actually summerise it more clearly so the right message can be uploaded on affiliate sites..... this is where i think you are coming from:

Free Delivery on all Orders over £25, for under £25 £2.95 will be charged

Free returns on all orders, based on consumer keeping £25 value of products otherwise a £2.95 cost will be charged

    Cheers

    Hi

Helen - sorry, my explanation probably didn't come across as simple as intended but yes, that's essentially it.

Mogga - We looked at dozens of retail sites's delivery charges before making this decision and not only did they all charge for delivery, most set their min spend threshold much higher than our £25 - one well known high st. dept. store expect you to spend £300 before you get free delivery!

Also, our average basket is much higher than the threshold due to the price of designer lingerie, so it really will not effect a huge percentage of customers

    Hi,

We have had to push this back a few days and changes to the site will happen by Wednesday now. I'll let everyone know as soon as it goes live

Just to clarify this, if the person orders £30 of items, then returns £10 worth, will they get £10 credited back to their card or £7.05 (10-2.95)?

Your existing post said "we will not be charging for delivery as long as the original order value was above the threshold" but then it seems to have been discussed as if the final value of non-returned items needs to be above the threshold to avoid the delivery charge. I'm confused (it's easily done! ).

    Hi Rich,

If a customer's original order value (before any returns / cancellations etc) was above the threshold and they then return items bringing the final order value below the threshold they will still not be charged delivery.

    Hope that clarifies

    Cheers
