    Hi All,

I'm new here so please be gentle...

I've got a couple of question about using two or more affiliate networks and to be honest my interaction with affiliates up until now has been nil or less.

    1. If you have multiple cookies from multiple networks how would be the best way to sort the payoff to the correct network without having to hand sort the sales that are checked with two or more networks?

    2. I have heard that a technique that is known as a local cookie is used in some cases but this as to be activated on all landing pages or a CGI based script reads the variable on the incoming link.

Any reccommendations would be an total help

    cheers

    Hi Bob,

    1) Local cookies is the only way to do this correctly.

    2) A local cookie has to be activated some way this can be via sending people to a special landing page, via a script or using a variable that another script on the page can turn in to a local cookie. All are as valid as each other, and some are easier than others to put in to practice.

I have wrote a big article on this in the Affiliate University section of this forum, see here http://www.a4uforum.co.uk/showthread...threadid=14389

I was also the person that recently sorted out Advanced MP3 Players issues they had with multi sales over 3 networks and have done this for other merchants also so any question please contact me, as I will be happy to help.

    Hi Bob,

    What he said /\

I recently installed local cookies following instructions given to me by Clarke. This was fairly easy to implement, and works like a dream.

It would make differentiating between the networks simple and foolproof.

LOL I take this is Summit Media Bob? Ah right, yeah I will speak to Graeme and have him send along one of our default scripts, you still need to edit and do a little work to get it to work on your site however it's fairly painless and the very short document that comes with it will explain what you need to know.
