Hey check out these recent Revenews Blogs about the Republican National Committee setting up an affiliate program on CJ!

Partial Excerpt from the CJ detail page:

"We must give President Bush the support he needs to keep our country moving forward in a positive direction. Only you can help provide the resources needed to re-elect a Republican president and Congress. Your support is urgently needed. By the way, you'll earn 30% of each donation you bring in for the RNC (capped at 30%). It's a great cause and with your support we can make this a huge success for everyone."

This is big news - political lobbyists paying 30% of donations to affiliate marketers!

This is also a really fun read.

This would really appeal to political commentary sites who want to generate some extra revenue.

The same is happening in the UK with a move towards internet revenue by some political parties. One of them already runs a national lottery (I happen to be an official scrutineer of their finances). Many local constituency associations are also operating as affiliates to raise additional revenue so I really can't see it will take too long for them to become merchants as well, offering membership online (which they do already) but allowing others to advertise this for a commission.

As I understand it, most people are getting rejected from affiliate sign ups pretty well automatically. I think sign up is by invitation only more or less and is really designed as a vehicle to process fundraising from the Republican fund raising call centers.

I enjoy making a quid as much as the next person, but even I could not feel good about doing anything to even remotely support raising funds for a fool whose hands are covered in blood and is nothing more than a puppet asking "...how high?" when the Jewish Lobby in Washington sayes jump.

Sorry for adding these comments in view of the fact that they have little to Affiliate Marketing, but its one thing to worry about the future of Affiliate Marketing, its anothing thing entirely to worry about the future of our own lives and those of our families. This is one bloke who has done more to turn 35% of the worlds population against us than any other person I can think of. Rumour has it that even the BNP has offered him an honorary chairmanship for the success of his ongoing efforts to create division in the world.

We complain about the abuse of Affiliates by the likes of eBay, Argos and some of the mobile phone scam artists, but if you earnt a commission from that program, don't be surprised to get an IOU from that war crim Sharon, along with an incentive structure that offers you a free trip to Iraq for 4 along with free flakjackets and an exclusive invitation for 2 front seats to seeing the first nights bombing of Iran. Cause if this sh-thead stays in control that is right on the cards.

...right, time to put the dust back on the ol' soapbox and stick it back in the attic!

Maybe we should start our war on terror on affiliate marketing and go uni-lateral on this CJ program.

    Target acquired & locked.
