Hi,
They are even No1 on the organic search too. Seems crazy to me.
Review this search and look at the adword ads to the right
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...=UTF-8&q=z411a
FOUR kelkoo ads, 3 claiming to be legitimate affiliates, with different partner ID's yet exactly the same ad copy.
Doesn't this seem iffy?
Google Adwords don't seem to mind multiple accounts, only if you inform them, so that duplicates ads for the same destination merchant are not run.
I have approached Google with regard to this seemingly blatant floundering of rules, but they seem none too concerned.
It seems as they spend fortunes with Google, they can getaway with what they want.
What makes it worse it that, Kelkoo have said in writng and verbally they don't have independent schemes for us normal affiliates, yet they saturate the ads, making it difficult for other advertisers to obtain a decent CTR (Click Thro Rate)
The problem is is that it's happening on 10000's of prime keywords too.
So, what do we do?
Set up companies X, Y & Z pretending to be an affiliate of our own site A. Companies X,Y & Z do do pay per click for company A as bogus affiliates.
Not a sausage Google can do about it as they are all individual companies.

wow even more suprising is that there's no
"You searched for Z411 so check out these links for Juice squeezers"
I never used kelkoo on principle that they manage to rank for stuff they aint even got anything for, you click and then find some obscure link to a product you wouldn't consider buying
Thradrienia, have you emailed AdWords UK Support about these? I'd be surprised if they didn't do anything.

They pay people for SEO then also pay for the placings, overture etc.
End result, higher turnover - lower profits.
Cheers

And when prices show up they're often wrong ...I never used kelkoo on principle that they manage to rank for stuff they aint even got anything for, you click and then find some obscure link to a product you wouldn't consider buying [/B]
Kelkoo's better than the 26 million espotting sites that will spring up just below it.
If you want complete irrelevance visit them...
Those Espot only sites that pass themselves off as "price comparison" sites really piss me off !
I think the point being made re Kelkoo, is not questioning their organic search positioning, but the possiblity that Kelkoo THEMSELVES and NOT affiliates of theirs are running multiple ads for the same keyword term, which is meant to be a no no in Google Adwords books.
Swamping & monopolising results on a single phrase so that its harder for any other advertisers to get a look in.

I run multiple accounts and can have up to 3/4 adds on one keyword!
Google dont mind as long as you dont take the Micheal...i.e if i do run 4 ads on one term then i will use 4 different cta's offering the same product/service.
Does it work??
TBH multiple ads only really work on non competitive terms with a v low cpc. If you go for the competitive stuff you are better of concentrating on good cta and position for one add!
or play with a number of ads within your 1 campaign and see which get the best ctr and cr..(just add a unique id to the different adds)
i.e
buy the product
see the product here and
buy online. aff
url with tracking id 1
product £17.99
see the product and
buy online. aff
url withtracking id 2
product uk
buy the product for
£17.99. aff
url with tracking id 3
after a week or so you will be able to see which add gets the best ctr and which gets the best cr
once you have establisehed that you can tweak the adds accordingly and have 1 killer add!!
