  Adsense First Attempt

I have created a fairly basic (very basic) site as a sort of a learning process and after intending to place affiliate links on it, I then changed my mind and based it around adsense. I have struggled to make any real impact on Search Engines as it is a quite competitive area. I have just returned from holidays and looked at figures for august (see below) and whilst the traffic is awful, the number of clicks and income is quite encouraging, given that I have spent very little time on it. Is this percentage unusual or what do people think. Is it likely to scale up? I'm thinking that if I could get some meaningful traffic it could be quite lucrative.

edited figures..

Thanks in advance

Hiya Jimbo.

Just a bit of caution - its always good to seek advice, but part of Adsense's T&C's state that you can't give your figures to anyone. Also I don't think its acceptable to actually create sites for adsense (but I know people do ) . Best go through thier T&C's again

Anyways, good luck with it all.

also figures will depend on what sort of areas you're targetting. The only decent way to gauge if your figures are ok is if they pay the bills and give you some to spare.

could a mod delete the numbers from Jimbo's post, that I suspect were posted in innocence, before he gets in any bother?

Thanks for the comments. I was unaware that posting these figures could be tracked to my site or my account with adsense. Obviously I have a lot to learn and I appreciate the advice offered.

Don't panic Jimbo, I doubt they're tracking your postings here back to your site as this is an anonymous forum. Just thought it would be nice to get your error removed quickly to prevent others from following suit.

(Edit: I see Matt's removed them now anyway)
