Open IE
Tools - Internet Options - Advanced
Scroll down to Security
Check : Allow active content to run in files on my computer

Restart IE

It disables javascript on your local machine only - so if you had some script on a page you've developed and then test it locally it would fail.

SP2 does not disable javascript on web pages.

Apologies for the bum steer everyone - Jon (and others) are 100% correct - I was previewing using F12 in DW.
