Well done mate - taking at the huge boys to come in at #10

    TOP 10 SHOPPING GUIDES
    Kelkoo
    DealTime
    Ciao
    Yahoo Shopping
    Pricerunner
    Bizrate.com
    NexTag
    AOL Shopping
    Shopping.net
    CompareStorePrices.co.uk

But Richard, sorry can't work out why Shopping.net got to #9 with only a small amount of "comparison"?

The results are from Nielsen/NetRatings so will be on pure traffic flow rather than if the sites are any good.

If think its shows the value of some comparison sites with the comment: -
Surfers are visiting several comparison sites before buying
    ...
Some 70% of those who visited Pricerunner had also visited Kelkoo and one million visitors used both Dealtime and Kelkoo the report found.
    Here's the original press release: - http://www.nielsen-netratings.com/pr/pr_040929_uk.pdf
Data was from July. Time per Person for Shopping.net is 15 seconds, most others are ~2mins with Kelkoo 5mins and Pricerunner 8mins. Is Shopping.net used as a domain for redirects or something?

I thought CompareStrorePrices was Chris? In any case well done (and I haven't forgot about the G2G chat).

its mainly an espot site so the theory, get em in and then get them out (a few times) comes into play.

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

Anyone have an idea of the sums of money the likes of Kelkoo, Yahoo, Pricerunner, etc. make from advertising in the UK?

    Cheers

On the whole Kelkoo, Dealtime etc.. Charge advertisers on a cost per click basis, which is essentially a ranked bid based model.

For mobile phone and consumer electronics clients we were paying in the region of £0.30 per click.

They will sell banners on a cost per thousand basis. Costs vary depending on the level of targeting, my guess would be that they vary between £15 and £5 per thousand.

so you were paying 30p a click on mobile phones via kelkoo, then they give us 15p per lead on TD for mobile phones.

So, for no real reason at all, they make 15p and get free traffic. nice
