I would like to design an affiliate scheme for our customer who have been working hard on their site for the past year, though would really like to see if it is worth investing in.

The thought is to operate a fixed price per item commission structure as well as a percentage scheme to suit affiliates who prefer either way. Conversion is sat on about 4-5% using other mediums such as pay per click for submitted products.

The thought is that on targeted products the site owner would have the ability to increase commissions on individual products instantly as market conditions change instead of applying a generalised percentage.

As well as this we are looking at creating html copy and paste marketing "creatives" (hate that word) as well as csv and xml data feeds to suit the more technically minded, eventually allowing for affiliates to just paste a few lines of code in their pages allowing affiliates to call only up to date products, top sellers and of course up the minute prices without having to edit pages all the time. Another feature we were looking at was allocating targeted products into a "top commission paying" category allowing affiliates to only show random products or categories of products types that paid the most commission on that given day.

There are a lot of mobile phone sites around which pay good money and i personally dont see why any of the top affiliates would give up valuable space on their sites to promote products that have a lower yeild which is why i wanted to get some ideas as to what would sell this affiliate scheme to you the affiliate where others are disregarded.

I am also aware of affiliate window and commission junction, however the customer is more inclined to invest the money into solid scripts and increased commissions than to go down that route, however time will tell if the scheme gets enough exposure independantly.

The scheme plans to be run by two account managers provided by us. One for all technical related or site design queries and the other for all product related queries with direct line to both to make it as accessible to affiliates as possible, this scheme should allow us full control to pretty much build any kind of custom modifications each affilate wishes within a few hours. Including co-branding and full branding as well as traditional deep link methods etc.

Obviously there needs to be changes to the site to accomodate everyones input (please dont shout about the telephone number, it is database enabled and dissapears when a visitor enters the site using an affiliate link). My main question is what would we have to do to the site, or make as a feature of the affiliate scheme to get our customers products and or site published.

Would really love the help and it will be returned in kind to those who do decide to use the customers scheme if there is enough feedback.

Have a look, see what you think:
