(jess without her ASOS cap on and affiliate cap on)

Is it possible that affiliates who update product feeds daily or weekly are not being picked up by Google et al... content is too fresh?

The reason why I ask this is because of my own website. I rarely have time to touch my website but I tried an experiment! When I was updating links on a regular basis, I got nowt in the search engines, I left my site for one month and now its being picked up.

Am I going mad or is this some thing that you have found?

    hi non-ASOS jess!

depends on PR, good example of this is news sites.

Content is updated very regularly, but say the BBC site had good PR so it gets spidered and indexed regularly.

If you update content on a PR2 site every day google will probably only spider once every 2 weeks (complete guess) and index whatever is there at the time.

too fresh - depends on the PR, and thats actual PR not toolbar PR.

There is also a meta tag for the frequency a site changes - daily, weekly etc. I forget what it is offhand but apparently Google can use it to identify news sites from static sites and marks down sites which say they are updated daily and aren't, though they still have to be popular to be spidered daily.

Most of my visitors come from Yahoo and msn and findspot... google hates me :0( Well hell, I hate google too!

Ok so low PR and regular updated links= no visitors.
Low PR and non updated links= Visitors

Yeah I am going to look back at my meta tags and see if this is where the problem lies.

    Cheers
