A text link would suffice where no 120x60 was available?
Hi, just wondering if the size of banners relates to the amount of clicks it will get, my sites mostly would display 120x60 banners and on some affiliate networks there aint a lot of choice in banners of that size. Do I need to make more space for bigger banners or do the merchants need to update the banners so that we stand a better chance of make them and us money?
Many Thanks.

I would say not the size but the design matters alot.
A text link would fit in the space of a 120x60 banner but it isn't exactly inspirational or eye catching, isn't the point of advertising other peoples product to sell it over other items which it might compete against? Therefore as dungdee says design would matter alot.

I have found in context text links convert much better than banners. I believe the average web surfer has learnt to ignore banners. I never click on banners personally when I am looking at websites.
I'll always make custom banners for our affiliates if they require something out of the norm.
Straying away from the "usual" dimension usually increases the CTR but as others have pointed out, you can't beat a well placed and relevant text link.
