    Hi Everybody
I hate to say it cause everybody does but i'm new to this so please bear with me.
I have set up a web site purely to try and see if it is possible for me to make money out of the web. (thats honest of me)
I have been following all your comments on the diffrent subjects discussed here and must say although it might sound sad of me I look forward to reading tomorrows reolies from everybody.
My main problem seems to be that I can't seem to find a way of getting Google to find my site or any other search engine for that matter. At the moment I am paying Google Adwords but although nobody here seems to qoute figures I dont mind telling you all that this month I have only achieved an average of 15 click throughs per day from adwords which is resulting in 12 click throughs to possible advertisers. Not good eh.
Can anybody recommend a program that will help me with getting listed on the search engines ie is TrafficSmartz worth purchasing or for a resonable cost is there better ones.
If anybody wants to look at my web page and tell me if they hate it and why I dont mind hopefully I can then make it better with feedback from you guys.
Well this will do for my first thread. To sum up can anybody Help

    Ta!

    1) your in google, install the google toolbar. you have a PR of 1 but looks like only your index page is listed, so its just a matter of time before the rest get in.

Write some content all im seeing is banners, you have more banners on your pages than most merchants offer via the network. Content is lacking.

If you just buying traffic at moment then im guessing there ariving, seeing all the banners and no content, thinking "oh no not another of these" and either clicking the banner of going back.

If you do a bit of a pre sell with some content the people clicking o nthe banners will be all giddy and excited and ready with their credit card, if there just clicking to go somewhere else, anywhere else then there not really going to be in the mood for buiyng.

    make your site useful.

design wise looks okay, maybe a bit girly? perhaps you should focus on treats for women, spa days, massage oils etc. boots have a program somewhere.

focusing on a more niche area will also give yo ua better chance of getting higher listings in google for search terms.

regarding SEO read every post ever made in the SEO bit down at the bottom of the forum

    best 'o luck!

    Hi DJS

The best way to get listed in search engines is for other sites to link to you - search engines follow links from web pages to other web pages to find and index new content.

You therefore need to look at getting links from other sites - try free directories and sites that are in your field - then look at exchanging links (basically approaching a website and agreeing to link to them if they link to you.)

You will want a HTML link rather than a javascript or any re-direct - although Search Engines may list you with a non-html link it is less likely.

Link exchanging can however be risky - you may want to install the Google toolbar to make sure that you are not linking to any bad websites (bad websites in Google opinion tend to be sites with Page Rank O - or Grey Bar - if you download the Google Toolbar you will see a function called page rank)

I would (personally) avoid programs that promise to send you visitors (although others may have different experiences).

You can also try submitting your site to the major search engines through there sites. - Google, MSN and Yahoo have a site submit function - although links from other sites are much better - to initially get you listed.

I like the site design but content, what content?

You seem to have made some odd decisions regarding your pages too - your home page has a very nice theatre feed on it, but it's londontheatredirect.net - ie not really applicable to most of the nation (believe it or not London is not the centre of the world, and it has been proved by science that the world is round ). With a bit of tweaking the theatre feed could make up a very nice section of content on its own - throw in a link to a couple of theatre groups (ones without online stores of course) and a nice intro saying how the theatre is underrated and makes the perfect gift and by the way if you're in London here's a nice list of forthcoming events... and you'd have something worth visiting. by having very generic categories you are limiting your options - you have mobile phones in the kids section, but there's better money in contract phones and you don't have it in the mens section.

If you split it up properly you'll find that it is much easier to SEO each section seperately, optimising the phones, theatre trips, toys etc, which will help the site as a whole when the more succesful sections in the search engines feed traffic to the less optimised sections. There will also be a lot more pages for the search engine to see.

As it is I'd say your design and choice of program are spot on, but you need to categorise it properly, SEO each section individually (or at least your top performing / best paying sections), and add some content, even if it's just a brief conversation saying why the visitor should buy whatever it is you're trying to sell.

As above + it take a lot of time and effort to do well.

Content will get you visits too. I still have old text only pages which receive lots of hits - absolutely no graphics whatsoever.

    Good luck
