    Hello there,

A few months ago, the AdMax Web Directory was launched. A free listing is available to UK businesses in the services, retail, leisure and entertainment sectors.

There are no catches. A free listing is being offered as a way of building up the content. This will be available for serveral months. If you are interested, please take a look at www.admax.co.uk.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Graham

Umm I gonna offer some helpful advice and please don't be offended as I hope it's constructive :

Personally I think you need to lose the "admax" background, it's about as easy on the eye as nora batty.

I get quite a few link requests per day and I still only link to sites that are either on topic, well ranked, good PR, or even just pretty (ok call me sentimental.. )

I wouldn't link to (or particuarly want a link from) your site at present as it isn't particularly good pr, it doesnt' rank , it aint on topic and the admax background is hard on the eyes.. so it's on a bit of a loser from my point of view and I am not a particularly demanding webmaster

Ditch the admax background and maybe Check out some free templates or something as it really does need smartening up somewhat to get maximum conversion both from webmasters and users alike I think..

    Oh.
I signed up just for the PR - yeah it's not too grat but it's better than PR0! I even bookmarked it for future use!
As for the design, yeah, a bit dated, and it wouldn't impress me as a normal web user but there are plenty worse out there.

Thanks for the feedback, even the nasty ones!

I amazed how picky some people are over something that is free! The best way to get a website ranked is to get listed on as many web directories as possible, even ones that are not as pretty as they might be. Pay per click is a convenient but expensive way of doing this. Searching around for free directories is a lot cheaper. The plan is to repay loyalty of the original subscribers by keeping them top of the list.

When starting out with an idea, it is not obvious to know how it will develop, which sections will popular, etc. AdMax is a prototype, and a lot has been learned already. I did not want to spend a huge amount of time and money on an idea that may not take off. AdMax will be refined as more companies sign up for a listing, but the whole process is taking longer than expected.

    Hi,
I like the idea of free advertising online as it helps smaller businesses get online and get seen but as is the case with these things, you get what you pay for. I dont mean small bsuinesses should go on google and blow £500 per month on ad words but people like 3D interactive shopping mall do flat rate packages for companies that can really work as you get to be on the 3D Mall website that seems to be getting more popular every day. Well over 100,000 hits a month and its projected to get around 1 million a month within a 6 month period. I guess i am a little biased as I have been working with these guys and things have really being working well.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in advertising on themall.tv website, please feel free to contact me as I may be able to organise a good deal.

I am definately going to ad admax to my favorites as it seems very popular.

    Best regards

    Oliver Steele
