    Hi all,

A friend of mine has 4 domains (printers.co.uk, faxes.co.uk, scanners.co.uk and trainers.co.uk) that he is interested in developing, but does not have the time required.

I suggested that there are plenty of people on this forum who could make a brilliant job of developing the domains, perhaps on a revenue share agreement or something similar?

I think the domains have massive potential and are hugely memorable - i.e. a great opportunity.

Is anyone interested in this project and how common is it to do a rev share on sites like this?

I think there is potential for development here.

Bit busy myself and not really my arena but there may be someone on the forum who will take the bait. I would suggest a percentage in the company would be a better proposal drawn up legally but on the condition that the chosen affiliate proves that they can make a good profit first before the percentage in the company is given, etc.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

    definately an opportunity there .....

..but I disagree on revenue shares. You build up content on a site, what is to happen when the agreement runs out.
If you have a premium domain name you (or someone) don't need, why hang on for something that might never happen. Sell it for a premium price. I think I am just too suspicious, but I couldn't build up content on someone else's domain, just for them to get the site after the contract expires .....

Yep marky - I had thought the same.

Sure he's also open to offers on buying the domains too, but just thought that developing might be a better long term option.

You'd have to work out a suitable ongoing contract for this to work to prevent one party benefiting more than the other.

I'll do it - I've done revenue share with people on this forum, and developed affiliate sites for a flat fee before - both are fine by me, though of course revenue share is better if the site does really well!
You do need to have a solid agreement though, and keep track of spending like adwords.

PS Not so interested in the trainers - I don't even own a pair, and the last time I kicked a football I was 15!

Hi, nice domains no doubt, I remember trainers.co.uk expiring, big figures knocked around then, guess it goes back to domains holding value depending on what the registrant is prepared or is capable of doing with them.

My 5 cents on trainers.co.uk is either:

LEASE the domain to a major brand and agree rev share
GIVE the domain to a major brand and agree rev share
    Or simply sell

I wouldnt bother getting your hands dirty developing it, give it to a big corp and agree a slice.

    Good luck

    Neil...
