If I were god , I'd set up aff. commissions at 100%god idea
Actually, the higher payouts you offer, the more affiliates you get interested. I won't pesonally touch anything below 50%...or $50 for high ticket items...or $15 for recurring items.
We're thinking about increasing our commission rates from 30% to 40% for new affiliates.
Does this sound like a good move?

I would think with all the money you have made selling Ebooks and such it would all be rather small fry to you.
Is this a real question? Or is this a plug for your affiliate program?Originally posted by planetearth

Can you really imagine anybody in the whole wide world thinking "Oh, this guy is going to increase his commission by 10% so I'm going to stop promoting him, what a really bad move".
Sorry but maybe a post introducing yourself and outlining the features and benefits of your program may be a better way of getting your program out there to affiliates.

I agree with Kieron entirely. Also, are you suggesting that it will be only new affiliates that benefit from this rise in commission. If you are, it's a good way to alienate your existing base.

Is it legal to sell such medication online in the UK?Where on the site does it say its medication? Please read the site and the legalities before giving half baked opinions.
2nd: No, the question was not a plug, granted we're not enrolling as many affiliates as we'd like and I'm looking at ways of changing that - plugging on here didn't jump at me as being the solution to all my problems![]()

3rd: A valid point was raised there - i.e. would increasing our commission annoy our current affiliates? Obviously they won't be happy, but is it something that's done regulary?
Just looking for advice on area I have no experience with that's all.
Wasn't expecting the mother of all flamings

If this is a really serious question, I seriously doubt that your existing affiliates will get annoyed at you RAISING commission levels!
As a Partnership Manager, one of the things I get asked most often by my Affiliates and Partners is: "How can I make more money?"
Hope that answers your question.
Thanks - it does, although I meant them getting annoyed if I only raise the commission for new members.Originally posted by mindblend

A tiering system is something I'm considering - what kind of turnover would an affiliate have to make to move up to the next teir? Or is it indigeanous to the type of site/business?
Why would you only increase commissions for new affiliates??Originally posted by planetearth

If I was an existing affiliate and you did this I would be very, very annoyed and would dump you like a shot.

I think it would be a question of knowing your business, the revenue scales involved, and how much you want to motivate your affiliates.Originally posted by planetearth

I would give it a lot of thought, as lowering the payouts on such a system later in the life of your program will cause bad feeling.
