hi guys,
just thought i should give all mobile phone affiliate a quick 'heads up'

three marketing are clamping down on all websites using the word 3 or three in there domain name if they are marketing mobile phones, ie;

threemobilephoneshop.com
3mobilephoneshop.com

are not acceptable, it sounds stupid i know, i am awaiting full rules to be emailed to me (expecting them tuesday), when i have the email il post it up here

Surely the number 3 and the word three cannot be registered as they are general usage terms. ANother case of last minute I feel. Please keep me posted on this one as I own a few of these type of domain names. However as they only promote three mobiles I don't see what they're problem is. Surely it would only damage there sales.

I think one explanation would be that 3 now operate a direct sales channel and are trying to clamp down on site owners using their trademarked brand name.

There are some quite big hitting sites out there using 3 or three in the domain - gonna be interesting.

Hi,

From my conversations with Three Directly, the problem has always been around sites using the registered '3' logo within their logo. This is an area where they are trying to clamp down, and have been trying to do so for manier month.
