I have to agree & noticed it too..so will be discussing directly & privately with merchants...In the meantime we direct traffic to their main competitor.
We are 90% confident that the network we are using are directly competing with us in PPCing a merchant, we know 100% for sure that they do PPC services for their merchants.
Is this a conflict of interest?
I remember seeing a post about this before, but I can't find it here, if it's the same network we'd like to use another network. If anyone knows the original post if they could let me know it would be much appreciated.

These are possibly the old threads you were thinking of. I haven't spotted anything new, but haven't been looking.
Campaign Pirates (DGM)
Campaign Pirates Part 2 - Compare Online - OMG
Is it one of those networks or a different one?
Ouch! - It's not us, we run our PPC in house.
But any questions please contact before directing traffic to our competitors!
Thanks

At the recent G2G, we found that former members of network staff have left & gone on to be publishers amid exisiting ones.
But getting back on track, we have questioned one or two networks on this subject, they turn around and say it's the merchant doing it using the networks tracking. In certain instances this is true & others not so. Also you'll find there are a few cartels operating. Even though not yet prevalent, it's becoming a little underhanded in certain areas.
Not happy with a 30% override, they go for 100% commission plus 30% override, whilst being privvy & able to analyse affiliate stats who have performed well for that program.

Which means if you do PPC on that network you are no more than a research assistant.
I don't see what we can do about it other than switch networks.
You could name the network?I don't see what we can do about it other than switch networks.
Some of you PPC guys play with some serious ££ each month so imo networks should be making sure you're happy and doing their upmost to keep you happy (in fact that's a basic thing they should be doing for all affiliates).
Don't let them walk over you. And if they do.. walk away.. because by taking your PPC ££ and spending them elsewhere you're not earning that network money.
And if the big ££ PPC'ers collectively had the balls to stand together and walk away from merchants and networks that shaft just one of the group then you'd not even have to wonder what you can do.
