Im looking to become a merchant soon and will probably go with a network in the end but am still considering my options. Does anyone know of some really good software to make an indy program?

It would need to be as transparant as possible so that my affiliates know exactly whats going on?

    cheers in advance!

Mals offers free shopping cart, I am sure they have an affil prog included.

oSCommerce can be another route, there is a contribution for affiliates. But from my experience it is not too great.

My Affiliate Program from Kowabunga is probably the best - it lets you run an indy program but your program also gets featured on the Kolimbo "network" which allows members to easily find your program and sign up to it with just one click. Ben from Kowabunga is on these forums so he'll probably chip in here as well.

We use Interneka.com and they seem excellent so far as well as Cheap.

Also there Tech Support guy Tomas is really halpful, my only concern would be that Tomas is like Basil Fawlty and seems to be everybody in the company.

Forgot to say that Kowabunga and MyAP have a UK representative in Dixon Jones from this forum (and Receptional) who maintains http://www.myap.co.uk so it isn't just a US thing.

MyAp gets my vote for an indy program too. It's much harder to get indy programs off the ground but one of the real advantages is that you can pay better comission levels when you don't have large network fees and overrides. In the current market i would still favour a technically strong and affialite focused network though.

We've been using it a few years and it is good value. Just don't rush to impliment the upgrades as they seem to beta test them on the merchants!

The former is hosted and the latter is a php/mysqp affiliate tracking script. KB/Myap is hosted too.

Decide on what features are important and then see which ones meet your needs.
