hmm hot domain name!

Hi all

I just thought I would through a question into the air.

Before I got into the affiliate industry I used to be and still have a mobile disco company, as part of the service I offered a bingo caller service for events, I registered the domain name partybingo.co.uk I could not get .com as it was taken but had no content on the site. I used it to promote that part of what I did for a few months then I just took it down as I moved it to a new site.

In the last week I have been approached by 4 companies enquiring about the domain name and if I would be interested in selling it! However partybingo.com have said they want the domain name and I just have to hand it over to them, according to nominet they said because I didnt buy it to sell it to them or any misuse of the domain name and I actually had it for a general purpose before they even created and launched their site they could not take it from me.

I understand that this must be hot property as it has been over 2 years before any approach for the domain has been made.
What would you do in this situation and why is this such hot property. Since I have been bombarded with questions about the domain name I have pointed it at one of my sites.

What would you do in my situation and has anyone else had experience selling unused domain names?

Dont do that or they will have you for passing off. (unless you do want to be sued)
