    Hello,

I have just recently joined this board, so if this discussion as already been posted I do apologise. I very much need help to drive more traffic to my site www.companyleague.co.uk

I have considered Google Adwords but im not sure how successful this advertising campaign will go. Would ayone care to tell me how well it works for you and if it may work for my site.

One more thing, I am considering using www.webtrafficmax.co.uk and purchase 10.000 traffic for £34.00. If anyone as used either of these services would you be kind enough to tell me if it is possible I could drive good traffic to my site and make a return on investment.

Thank you very much for your help. Please feel free to email me: companyleague@aol.com

buying traffic is generally considered a waste since it's not targeted too strongly as you can with adsense where you can target particular words and phrases. Also with traffic schemes your site is lilekly to be the one that pops up or pops under from another site and annoys the user since they didn't ask for your site. If they click on your adsense advert, they are at least slightly interested to look at your site. Pay per click can be a minfield too though.
    Good luck with your traffic.

Some of my customers have already done this type of thing, conversion rate of very high converting stores was NIL. Ie 10,000 visitors (but looking at the logs they were not even visitors, just as people have said popups, popunders, but im sure half of the click throughs are forced through invisible frames etc.

Even when some my merchants had terrible traffic they at least got 1% conversion, from the 10,000 i saw there wasnt one sale.
    Nothing to see here...

Wouldn't waste your money on things like WebTrafficMax - as others have said if you want to buy traffic do some work on adwords.

To be honest though if I were you before I thought about spending any money I'd concentrate on getting my site up to scratch - there are lots of grammatical and typing errors and you even have a typing error in your logo - the text in the graphic says comanyleague not companyleague.

I'd also make sure you have no empty categories.

Gut feel is you're going to struggle to make money from your site - it is yet another 'me too' shopping portal - and sad to say - not a particularly good one.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

    Hi,

I have to agree with kbudden (and others): DON'T waste your
money on trafficmax type schemes, and DO try to think of
something other than a UK shopping guide (I created one in
1999 and there were too many of 'em then! )

Success in AM, not that I am a great success example, is about
not doing what everyone else is doing, and if you must do
the same then you really have to make it MUCH better.

(I've more or less given up on my own shopping guide!)

    Steve

Rather than buying traffic you might think about search engine optimising your website so that it brings in natural search engine traffic.

There are plenty of forums where you can learn the skills, or you can pay someone to do it for you. Think of it as an investment.

I suspect that with your current website you will have trouble earning a satisfactory margin if you buy Adwords. You have to pay for every click Google send you, whereas the affiliate schemes that you send traffic to will only pay you when they make a sale.

Added to which, while Google's tracking systems are very sound, you can't say the same for all of the affiliate scheme tracking systems.

I have to agree with everyone elese - trafficmax is useless - I have just tried it for one of my gambling sites and out of 5,000 'visitors' I think I got one click through - I even tried different landing pages etc when they got to the site to no avail.

good old seo or adsense is the only way forward

Its mostly scam traffic - they use scripts to simulate 'visitors', with IP rotators etc. They have the occassional 'real' visitor thrown in to make it look like a click or 2 happens. Ask yourself why these bozos would sell the traffic if they had it rather than just direct it to their own rev-generating sites... nutty.

Of course, if any 'expired domain traffic' or 'traffic reseller' would care top supply incontrovertibel proff their traffic is real, we'll all buy LOADS of it and all get REALLY rich REALLY fast....
http://www.nichetaxi.com - takes the hard work out of finding niches for your adsense websites! And its free!

Thanks for all your replies, they have been very useful and It looks like I will be saving my self a few quid.

Im having no luck with search engines at the mo and I've just dropped out of Google. I think my best option now is try off line advertising and see how that goes.

kbudden, I must thank you for letting me no about my logo error, im not sure how that happen.
