I am very pleased to have joined you, but I am a "new boy" to affiliate marketing, and I have got a great idea to set up a website recommending companies dealing with gifts and gadgets, as I feel this is a good time of the year to do it.

I don't want to sell products on this site myself, but just work on affiliate commission, and because I have no experience in this field, I would welcome comments from anyone who would be kind enough to help me.

Really happy to join you, as when I was recommended I was told you are THE BEST!

Unfortunately I dont think anyone is just going to hand out valuable information for you to make money.

Obviously most people on here invest money in areas and learn by their mistakes at a cost and that is their investment which keeps them ahead of new competition. They aint going to give you those pointers.

Ultimately by helping you they could be helping their competition which is a threat to them. Its like Google saying heres what we have learned over the past 20 years and giving it to Yahoo and them making themselves better than G

Simply build a site and sign up to some of the well known Affiliate networks such as Tradedoubler, Affiliate Window, Affiliate Future, DGM etc and impliment their merchants into your site.

If you have visiters to your site then you should make some money as long as they site is relevant and not sp@m.

Thank you for responding to my message. I wouldn't expect anyone to give away their 'trade secrets' quite rightly, as you say, so hard earned. My question was therefore not well put, and I apologise for that.

If your wanting to do what i think they your looking to set up an online shop that, when you click 'Buy Now' etc goes to the merchant page, they buy and you get commission. Its a commonly used idea but if this is what you want to do you'll want to look into 'product feeds' and learn a scripting language. Php possibly.

theres also lots of sites doing this so you might want to try and add a unique twist or something, up to you.

Personaly my fave sites have .db driven shop & clearly defined categorys to help shoppers find what their looking for as well as some sort of hook to keep them coming back.
