elongated ads? can you show me an example?
Steven
Hi,
I;ve not noticed that one of my key competitors an affiliate on this forum is showing elongated ads on google ppc.
I was wondering how many affiliates have been invited to do this.
I am personally a bit agrieved by this as it doesnt put people on a level playing field. I was wondering how much you have to spend with google to be invited to do this sort of thing. i spend about £2K per month, and am never invited to participate in this sort of thing.
In view of this does anyone have the name and email address of anyone i should write to at google with regards to this ?
Cheers
Mike

By elongated I assume you mean the 200 character ads !?
Mike ...it's invite only and still only a test ...
Knowing google, even emailing them to request to be part of the trial wouldn't do any good, as it's only a test (so far) I'd wait it out as it should be over soon and then they will either offer it out to all at some stage or not depending on the results.

I've been invited to take part in the beta test of this and have until the 7th to decide.
I'd like to see some examples before I go ahead. Are they a lot better than the short version?
I spend about £20k a month on Google.
I was invited to test this a few weeks ago and wrote about it in my blog at the time. It's still too early to say if the conversion rates are any better/worse but the ads are now live.

I don't think monthly spend is the main criteria as I got invited for an ad too and I'm not a big spender. I haven't seen any results yet but will be interesting to see how it goes.
Thanks all.
For those that were invited have google said how long the period is? I do notice that the adds alternate between showing and not. The ones I saw for my competitor looked good but they also caught the eye because they were bloody massive compared to everything else!
Ho hum, only time will tell I guess!
Good luck with the trial to those of you who have been fortunate enough to be invitedd. I wonder how this will transpire if they go ahead with it as surely there will be a good few ads less above the fold though ?

I think they said the second part of the trial would last until early October - will be interesting to see how it performs!
