If you know your connection settings you should be ok - set the phone number to dial to 8,35 and set the TCP/IP settings to obtain IP address and DNS address automatically.
Evening all,
I have my work computer at home as my own passed away earlier in the week
Question is regarding broadband. The Tiscali helpline insists that I need the Tiscali CD to be able to use my broadband (don't have it). Is this the case? I already have my modem driver installed on this machine. Surely I just need to know my connection settings, username and password????
Many thanks for any advice.
Andrea

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
Cheers - I'll try that.Dial-up is driving me mad and have lots of work to do....

You shouldn't need the exact same CD - if the TC/IP stuff doesn't work just pick another one up from Woolies
eh? as far as i know bb dosent require a number to dial its all done by user account and the exchange.Originally Posted by kbudden
What you need to do is make a new dial up conection ( its just called that you dont infact dial anything) and just add your user account details and password.
Wouldnt recommend anyone putting in any cd as you will then find your pc has been taen over by the isp youve just joined up to![]()
