    There is nothing stopping you putting your own stats on like ive done.

    The fonetastic stats are slightly inflated but not by that much.

    Lee

    EDIT... ok, they are quite a bit more inflated than i thought, but still not too bad.

    My stats this month - 655 UVs

    Fonetastic stats this month - 816 UVs

    These were my thoughts too - thanks for posting the stats.

    If anyone else had any, please can you email 'em to me if you don't want to post them. I think the reason is that the FTM sites are all crawled very regularly by all the spiders, this contributes heavily to the inflated stats. We're installing more web analytics to get a handle on this.

    Currently a UV is a UV per day, the tracking is bespoke.

    I just use http://www.addfreestats.com they are free but seem very good, at least you know how people are getting to your site and what pages they are looking at plus oads more usefull info.

    Gav, my stats are on the site... they are not password protected so anyone can see them.. just click on the stats link on the bottom left of the site then select 'view pttmobiles stats'

    You will see that the search results are very good, and that i come on page 1 of google for really good keywords.

    Thanks for the public and private feedback guys!

    As part of our efforts to improve the sites usability, we have instigated a customer survey on the Mobileshop and Fonetasticmobile sites. Evidence suggests that customers quite like this sort of thing as it makes them feel valued, and we hope to use the findings to further improve the site.

    This survey will be on a pop-up window on the homepage, and is quite short. It will be on the website for around a week depending on the number of responses.

    We are dedicated to improving all the programmes that we work on, and we hope this shows our commitment to the long-term growth and improvement of the Fonetasticmobile affiliate offering.

    If you have any questions please get in touch via the usual channels, if you have any feedback, please let me know - feel free to take part in the survey if you like! ftm@ro-eye.com

    Interesting stats Leeky, they certainly are something I'll have a closer look at and are very useful for us. They don't actually corrolate that closely (with notable exceptions) with the top performing affiliates - I guess not everyone has the Alexa toolbar!

    The fact is, for many affiliates FTM does work. Our top affiliates regularly drive over 20 sales per day, and have been doing so consistantly making a healthy profit since I started working on FTM in March.

    The FTM site is based around the Mobileshop programme, which does convert extremely well. Suggestions as to why the conversion differs would be greatly appreciated. (You could use http://pttmobiles.fonetasticwarehouse.com and www.mobileshop.com as comparison points) Both sites have exactly the same deals and essentially the same look and feel. As posted above, we've instigated a survey to judge customer reactions to the FTM site, and are very open to making any changes that affiliates feel that we should.

    As for the valid lead/sale conversion rate - we'd usually expect this to be around 70% (was higher across the board for September), so your 50% was just unlucky. This compares favourably with most other phone programmes, AFAIK. I guess your sample just isn't big enough to be statistically fair.

    I think the problem is the design of my site.

    The most obvious problems are that my site is too wide (it scrolls in 800x600 resolutions), I dont have an obvious search box (which should be on the front page), and i dont have the 'select a network' icons on the front page.

    Also, i think my menus look tacky and unprofessional and need redesigning.

    Ill spend the next couple of days improving it then we will see if it makes any difference.

    Cheers

    Hi Leeky,

    Your site is very different but I quite like it. Stick with it and work around the problems.

    Gavinio from my looking onwards I would definitely solve the way the pages load up! They load at 100% initially sizing themselves down. Because of the slow loading times its very noticeable and ugly to a user and looks unprofessional. If it loaded up at the fixed sizing it would look better. Ive noticed it across all affiliate sites and the FTM main site. It might be restricted due to the affiliate templating or summit but im sure this can be overcome by use of CSS or redesigning the tables. You better off using tableless as much as possible in anycase by using <div>'s. For SEO it works a treat as well.

    The other issue id like to know about is how changeable the graphics are say on the homepage for the mobile phone offers? Is this possible or would I have to start looking at using a datafeed myself and passing clients that way into a customised buy now page which is the only pages served from your end?

    I must say looking at the site today it is extremely slow which would put off customers.

    Thanks very much monk-i, yeah, i dont think ill do any drastic changes as im very paranoid about google not liking the changes.

    Ive spent 10 mins changing the colours of the menus so they blend in more with the site, ive also spaced them out a bit as before they looked too cramped up.

    With the colour change the menu's no longer over power the products...

    I just need to work out how to implement the search box...Gavin, can you send me the code i need for the search box.

    Cheers

    Lee

    I've actually had a couple of mentions from the call centre at Mobileshop, specifically to do with leads that have come from Kung Fu mobiles. There are a few issues and I'll give you a buzz in the morning.

    I'm not having a dig specifically, as your site is excellent!

    On another point, some navigational changes have been made to the site, this means anyone using the template system has to insert the code in between the <head></head> tags on their template

    [<-CSSFILES->]
    [<-JAVASCRIPTFILES->]
    [<-JAVASCRIPT_INCLUDES->]

    all will work fine then

    We will happily fix any that are having difficulty with this tommorow, and have already changed a few on your behalf. We will be actively seeking out those that need doing. Email me at ftm@ro-eye.co.uk if your site is displaying incorrectly.

    This fix is to ensure that anyone using pop-up blockers can see the terms and conditions as legally required, and can also access information about the handsets etc.

    Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.

    Leeky - good advice about not making any drastic changes from the poster above, your site looks ok, just a tweak here and there should get things running more smoothly.

    I've come to the conclusion that the brand new handsets, like the D600
    your pushing Leeky have lower conversion rates.
    I put this down to a lot of people just looking to see what the new handsets
    are like. I don't think it is a particular Fonetastic problem, I don't actualy
    optimise my fonetastc pages but feeder pages to them, and get a lot of
    visitors who don't even follow through to the fonetastic pages.

    I think you have hit the nail on the head T.J., ive concentrated too much on one product, although i did manage to get on page 1 of google for most 'samsung d600' keywords, it has been a total waste of time and effort.

    Although if i can stay on page one when people start buying instead of looking (for xmas) i may earn a few quid :-)... but we all know sods law wont let this happen!

    I've only really started promoting Fonetastic about 10 days ago and although I'm not that active in the Mobile sector; they do seem to be performing well. Along with E2Save they are one of the best performing mobile merchants in my experience.

    Still no sales :-(, ok, so im mainly targetting the samsung d600, but you would have thought that at least 1 person out of over 1500 UVs would actaully buy one??
