Out of 1.5k uniques I'd be amazed if you hadn't made a single sale, unless the traffic was not very well targeted. I've never promoted a white-label site before and I was thinking about going for fonetastic to start with. Not so sure now

I think they are worth it, off hardly any promotion (no PPC at all) ive pulled in 2 sales this month 1 approved off about 300 UV's. Rubbish I know but to say I did nothing cant complain. Working o nsetting up a mobile site to promote it some more but thats taking time and traffic is low so promotion of the white label is still nowt

Thanks again for all the feedback. All your opinions are appreciated!

Leeky, later today (ie not Monday morning!) we'll run a test sale to check it's all tracking OK - the way the system works, it's almost impossible for sales not to track, but it's something to check.

Cheers Gavin, that would be great if you could do that.

I dont think tracking is a problem, nor do i think the fonetastic site is a problem either... (because its working for other people)

I think ive just been extremely unlucky together with most of my visitors are looking for the d600, which has just been released so most people would be browsing.... but i think im still unlucky that someone hasnt purchased one.

Is there any stats on sales via
    fonetasticwarehouse.com vs fonetasticmobile.co.uk sites?

I would imagine that fonetasticmobile.co.uk would convert much better due to it being the original name, and correct domain extention for the uk.

Are you pttmobiles.fonetasticwarehouse.com Leeky? If you are then those Google ads in the right hand column will have a huge effect on your conversion rates and may explain why you are getting no sales.

I only wish that were the case, i only put them on because i wasnt getting any sales, so i thought i would try and get some cash that way.

I get about 6 clicks a day on those google ads (out of about 80 visitors), but i suppose there is a chance that the type of person clicking on them are the type of person who will purchase a phone....

It maybe worth experimenting without them again though.

    Cheers

Ive removed the google ads and instantly people are looking at more pages.. someone has just looked at 30 pages who have been refered from google.

Although i did put the google ads on because i wasnt getting any sales, i also wasnt getting the amount of visitors im getting now, so sales would have been much less anyway... so removing the google ads now traffic has increased may just do the trick.

Although not many were clicking on the ads, they may have been putting people off.

Cheers for the advice Kieron :-)

What's intiguing me at the moment is why when viewing the google cache of
some fonetastic sites it displays the cache from other fonetastic sites?
Is this something fonetastic are causing or is it down to google?

I think google is getting confused the way fonetastic works.

If you goto an affiliate fonetastic site... then goto the main fonetastic site afterwards, then the previous affiliate site you visit appears instead of the 'proper' fonetastic site.

I think the same is happening with the google bots, that they are being sent back to the site it previously went to, which is then confusing the search engine.

With this method the cached versions of all the affiliate sites maybe getting mixed up.

To make things more confusing ive just typed in www.fonetasticmobiles.co.uk and ended up being directed to..

    http://cheapmobilephones.fonetasticm...allphones.php?

Although ive never been to that affiliate site of fonetastic before???

    Lee

EDIT... Just realised that the correct name is www.fonetasticmobile.co.uk, not www.fonetasticmobiles.co.uk

The reason for the redirect is cookied activity, the idea being that a user should be redirected to the affiliate site rather than the 'generic' www. one.

I have little idea as to the vagueries of Google, but I do know that it pretty much loves the FTM affiliate sites, it's not unheard of for affiliates to get sales through no promotional activity. We'd be loathed to change it too much, but if anyone can come up with any suggestions then we're all ears.

I'll check out the problem with going to an unheard of site - the fact that if you typed in www.fonetasticmobiles.co.uk might have something to do with it! It's not the actual URL - someone has bought that and set up a redirect. I do wish people wouldn't link to the 'allphones page', the homepage is so much nicer, and converts much better.

    Try going to
    http://www.fonetasticmobile.co.uk/2/
click on the vodafone link on the left of the page, then look at the cache.

Well as an experiment i changed the site to the default fontastic site and got a pending sale straight away (unless this was your test sale Gavin?)

The problem is if i keep it as the default site it will be the same as all the other default sites and i will lose my google search engine rankings due to duplicate content.

    Just cant win???.

I think the problem is my site hasnt got the handset search box (and the default site has)... but i cannot work out how to implement this on my template...
