Hi all,
I've launched a new mobile phone website and would really appreciate your feedback and comments:
www.mobiledealsnow.com
It's only been launched from today so please be gentle!![]()
I've tried to make the website as user friendly as possible, all links are deeplinked to retailer websites which should result in higher conversions.
Let me know your thoughts folks.
Thanks,
Keith.
Nice clean design :-)
I wouldn't be put off by it.

I'm no expert but should you have some of your 'hot deals' in the top half to avoid some scrolling? Seems that's what most of your competition does. Would a buyer be interested in reading the blurb or just seeing the deals?
Nice clean design.

Agree with previous comments.
On 1024x768 I would personally put a 'great' deal *smack* in the middle of the screen. Surfers can read the detail later...
Apart from that - spot on!
Like it - as before nice clean design - shift up the hot deals
Good luck m8ty

Thanks very much for all your comments so far.
I put the 'blurb' on the main page to help with SEO, but I agree with your comments about making the latest deals take primary screen space when first visiting the site so thanks for the feedback.![]()

That's a nice, professional looking site. Everything looks neat and tidy and it's very easy to navigate.
Just a couple of things.. unless you're doing it for SEO purposes, there's not much point listing *both* the Sony Ericsson P910 and P910i as they are one and the same thing in the UK.
The pictures are a bit tiny. I go for the opposite approach and have really BIG pictures, but they can be a sod to source.
A good comprehensive list too. Although I must say not as compehrensive as mine... heheh!

Dynamoo,
Thanks for your comments, glad you like the design of the site as it took quite some time to construct. The reason for having a Sony Ericsson P910 and P910i is, as you correctly suggested, for SEO purposes.
The pictures aren't the biggest, I admit, but I feel they fit in well with the overall layout of the site. After all the aim of the site is to pre-sell content, the retailer's websites will give visitors all the images and info they need once they make that vital click (and resulting sale, hopefully)![]()
When I was designing the site I was trying to make the site as visually attractive as possible, but also SEO friendly and simple to use. I made a conscious decision not to use banners and stick mostly to text links.
Once again the feedback I have received from you all has been great so a big thank you. Please keep it coming!![]()
Anybody have any suggestions or interesting ideas on cheap ways to advertise the website (online or offline)? I'll stress that word again... *cheap*hehehe.
Keith
I'd say you might want to pick which merchants you send traffic to.
a) AFAIK, the 4 offers you've got aren't going to be the best converting ones.
b) I'd say you're missing out on 3 of the top converting mobile merchants in the market, one of which is www.mobileshop.com (on Affiliate Future and also DGM)
As for cheap methods of advertising, if your site has a USP (one of the above posters has a great site with lots of useful info on) then you'll be OK, you'll get referrals and repeat visitors. Other than that, you're down to SEO, unfortunately nothing else that's worthwhile is free, otherwise everyone else would be doing it!
Now with NEW! SHORTER! SIGNATURE!
If I post at funny hours, it's cos I'm in Oz!
A common trick is to have a popup box for the images that you can click to make them larger - that doesn't spoil the site design too much and is quite widely used.
Actually, that also has the advantage that if you can't source a decent image, then you can just stick with the small one and remove the "big picture" link.

Some good advice there, thanks for that.
In response to Gavinio, I realise there are probably better converting merchants that I could send visitors to and I will be looking into using other merchants shortly. Just wanted to get the site launched as soon as possible with the merchants I currently have.
Also considering using Pay Per Application rather that Pay Per Sale, anybody know of mobile merchants (and their affiliate networks) eg. Phones 4U, CPW, M2YD etc that offer this? What are your experiences of this?
Which poster / site contains info on USP and advertising? I checked a few profiles there but could not find the one you're referring to?
Keith
Hi,
I would just check that there isn't a copyrite on the phone cartoon man as also found here:

Nice looking site! Good luck with it. As has been said you are possibly promoting the wrong merchants if you want to earn money. I could tell you all the best epcs and merchants to work with and where to find them, but I am in an odd mood today and that would defeat the purpose of the year or so hard graft that I put in finding out for myself.
Good luck with the site though, nice, professional, let me know when you build up some good traffic from seo and I might put in an offer for the domain when you realise how competitive the mobile affilaite market is getting now
