Pros and cons of networks ??

Hi

I am pretty new to all this affiliate stuff and i am in the process of building a web site, i was just wondering why should i use a network like CJ or Paid for Results ect.

What are the good and bad points of using these networks??? Would it not be better for me to just go direct to the compaies that i would like to use and submit my web page for their review?

Any comments would be kindly accepted.

Use for what? as an affiliate? as a merchant? what are you going to use them for? what if they cant work with you directly because they havent the tracking, resources, the care? If they did, do you plan to do the hundreds of invisible tasks that networks have to do on your behalf either as a merchant or as an affiliate.

My suggestion and i am sure others in here will explain it in much more detail is if you had to ask that question to begin with then the answer is use a network ALL THE TIME. If you didnt need to ask that question and know everything already then of course you could consider branching out, but theres still some very very experienced little wizz kids in here (even the 40 somethings) that would prefer to just work through the network because they havent the time, energy or a financially better off working with them rather than try to be a lone enteprise.
