Thanks again for the very warm welcome and good advice. I appreciate all of your responses.

My favourite topic is.........ufos and extraterrestrials!

Is this a good topic for a first affiliate marketing website, please?

I believe that I could create a website full of glorious historical and present day facts about what UFO's are, who might be driving them and the implications for mankind!

Also, it could include links to shops that sell merchandise for the topic, e.g. books, t-shirts, mugs, DVDs, even games.

Please offer me your opinions, even if you think it's a stupid idea.

BTW I put ufos into google and it came up with 3,020,000 results and only 4 sponsored links (adsense?).

To me this looks like there's plenty more room for a lot more affiliate websites on this topic.

Maybe it's not a profitable subject? Only I heard a few years back that UFOs and sex are the two most searched for subject. Or was it aliens and sex?

Like you , I am quite new to this game too. I've been doing PPC for a while and have only just got into making my own sites.

Sounds like you have your head screwed on though, so all I'll say is keep at it, and don't give up when things get rough, everything will fall into place if you work at it. good luck
