Interesting read Mogga. Agree with much of the article. The problem as you noted is most definitely how much the technological impetus will be allowed to shape the roadmap and implementation of such a scheme.

Letting the EU political mandarins loose with $2bn in an area where many of them will either be blinded by hype or end up bickering to try and stamp their own personal or noational beliefs on what a 'European Search Engine' should be and the whole plan could easily end up down the tubes. Think I'll emulate the Swiss and stick to neutrality on this one
