Certain parts of my site generate pretty poor earnings, especially those relating to destinations dominated by no frills airlines.
I've always felt that a travel website should be about travel, but want to see each page pay its way as much as it can.
The "obvious" related products (car hire, hotels etc) have never converted well so far, but I will certainly look at this.
However, I notice on many of the major travel portals that they are now advertising loans etc on their home pages, presumably generating a good CPM, on which we affiliates are not going to earn anything.
Previously, I might have thought that getting into more debt to take a holiday doesn't sound like sound advice, but I'm more inclined to let the punter worry about that these days, and maximise EPM as much as possible.
Anyone else got experience here. If so, do you push products which are relevant to travel (credit cards with travel privileges, insurance etc), or just whatever has the most tempting EPC? Would really love to see Nationwide back, they are one of the few who don't rip their customers off forusing their cards abroad.
