I have been looking into the option of starting a affiliate programme and have had a quote from www.affiliatewindow.com which was £2000 set up then £350 per month running cost, my only concern was would there big a big demand from affiliates, our products have good margins so we would be able to offer 20% commission. My site is www.preventx.co.uk I would welcome any feedback, we have been on edirectory and only get a few orders a week fom them. Many thanks Tom

I would say that your site should work very well with an affiliate programme - I would certainly promote your products on several of my sites at 20% commission.

If cost is a concern you may want to look at other networks as well as Affiliate Window - I would suggest you give the guys at Affiliate Future a call (as well as being an affiliate I am a merchant with Affiliate Future and their rates are considerably lower than those you have been quoted)
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

A survivor personality is a winning personality that longs to win in the long-term, within the big picture and not one that looks only to succeed within individual moments.

I think I will go ahead with affliate future, we are getting sales of £10K a month working from home, but I can't afford to advertise in national press or get a sale staff so I think this would be a good idea. We do have a good convertion rate of 1.2 - 5%. And the hangover cure has a large target customer group compared to the other products. This is my first time on a forum so I'm a bit slow. Thanks for your comments.

preventx you would'nt be working from home when you get a affiliate program

i am not saying that all the 20,000 af publishers are going to signup to your program but offering 20% you get the superaffiliates taking a good look at your site

nice product range can think of a fair few affiliates and sites that could push your stuff quite happily...

It wiill take more work than just joining and sitting back for orders to come in but just by being in this forum you are well on the way, and with Affiliate future will be in good hands.

you'll have to work hard to build relationships but the effort will be rewarded as even just finding one good affiliate can rock your turnover sky high.. it's just a case of finding and developing them.

I would go alone; adwords, yahoo etc, set your own stuff up, in the short term no doubt will cost a bit. I would always be more inclined to go direct, as would many more.
Set a budget that is managable similar to what a network would charge, yeah it may take longer to get going.

Long term you will be quids in, and affiliate networks will 'lower their costs' eventually when you don't need them.

'The big guys get in' for next to nothing, it shows credibilty for the network involved, thats why because big boy affiliate network will bend over backwords whatever big boy merchant says.

The set up cost for your stuff will be charged at a higher rate, in fact 10/100 fold rate than a major player big name
