Ok, here it is, my FIRST affiliate site. I didn't want to show anyone until it was at a decent, content rich stage but I'm struggling to do much to it because of a new full time job, and lack of motivation. So I thought you guys could give me a push. Obviously its not complete, but I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you have. I have many more questions to ask, but all in good time

Oh and if any links dont work, please let me know. cheers

    Hi,

It's a bit of a shame if you lack motivation at this point

Mine is the hope of leaving my job behind and working full time for myself on my sites ... far more rewarding.

In fact I lack the motivation to tear myself away and iron my hubbie's work shirts ... I'm a bad wife

You'll develop your own style as you go along.

The "big boys" will have more idea about whether your site will be a hit search engine and conversion wise but meanwhile stick at it

I think the site looks nice. I like the simple layout and colours.

If I were buying, I'd want to scan through dozens, searching by brand name or model number or price. I don't know how incomplete it is at this stage, so no idea if that's a fair comment. A complete price comparison site is a major project, so I assume that's not what you're going for.

I don't know if you used cut and paste - I presume so, otherwise there would be hundreds of items from product feeds. Though cut and paste has the advantage of the ability to create unique content, you will have a big job on your hands to maintain it, as prices and model numbers change quite frequently.

Good luck with it. Hope it does well.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

As a first site I think you have done an excellent job on the layout. One major piece of advice - encrpyt or put your email address in a graphic otherwise the spambots will have you on every list going!

It looks nice but I would check the width of your pages - at 1024x768 I'm getting horizontal scroll bars which is a bit of a no no.

But as a first attempt - looks pretty good to me.

Looks really good, though i notice you only have comet for example, if anyone was really searching for a tv i think you might be providing the user all the information they want but then them going elsewhere because the prices are better. Try adding a few more brand names to each listing as it only helps to reinforce what your saying at the same time.
    Nothing to see here...

its good, as a first push, you've done well. I have seen worse on some peoples tenth attempt. I would echo what kbudden says about the width. The menu bar doesn't read that easily to me, but that's just a colour preference/eye sight issue. If thats your first attempt, you should be really pleased and motivated, i would have been. My first site was awful, some people say they still are. Stick with it, get a sale under your belt and you'll be flying!

HDTV will only get bigger when sky start broadcasting shortly, so that could be the big stepping stone you may need.

    Hi,

As above the site looks good, definately would add more brand names other than comet, give the consumer abit of choice.

Width is definately an issue, if the buyer can't see it they can't buy it.

Maybe move the logo further left, could give you abit of space for another little banner ad but hey thats just nit-picking.

Nice job and keep up the good work.

I've no doubt you're very good at SEO but do you really really really have to keep plugging your services - it seems like every other post you make is 'I could help' - ok ok - we got the message!!

I reckon, if you want an SEO agency - do a search for them on Search Engines - see if they can put their money where their mouths are!

    Hi,

I think your first effort is very good indeed. The only thing
*I* don't like is the fact that the links are not obvious - why
    no underlines for your links?

I knew of someone who did that and the agency they chose did a very poor job. I agree with Markzz.

Far better to read up on it yourself - it's a skill you really need to acquire and unless you have a major site, it's not worth paying someone - IMHO.
