RSS feeds what do you want?

I've been reading with interest the enthusiasm that some affiliates have with merchants providing RSS feeds.

Its somethin that i'd like to explore but could do with some guidance with what affiliates would be looking for in the RSS feeds.

Do affiliates want feeds like top 5 sellers of the month, articles, special offer feeds etc.

Any input would be good (as we have some big expansion plans and want to gather as many new ideas as poss before we start work)

sorry if this is a silly question but could you explain to me what an RSS Feed is? Is it similar to a product feed?

I am new to all this affiliate marketing as you can see from my question
