I am a newbie at this so bear with me...

I would like to send traffic to a landing page from Adwords. Is it ok to have a landing page with nothing else but content and an affiliate link? Or does the landing page have to be part of a site with other content?

Providing the landing page contains content (not just a click here link or something lackign relevant content) on you will be fine with it just like that.

This might seem like a stupid question but is there much money in the Adwords to landing page approach nowadays? What with Adwords landing page quality score affecting prices of adverts, I am thinking that a single page, without other navigation, may be hit adversely with the quality score and so price goes up and so profit is gone.

Who makes the decision as to the quality score of the landing page? Is it some kind of quality team at Google?

a single page is good enough - don't be tempted to try sneaky java redirects tho - they will pull ur entire account
http://www.nichetaxi.com - takes the hard work out of finding niches for your adsense websites! And its free!

I've was advertising a product on behalf of the product manufacturer for a few months using a basic landing page until Google hiked the minimum bid values up to £5.50 (Previously circa 5p). The manufacturer advised me to use a simple single html landing page with no navigation links and Google are saying it's not good enough.

If you now look at the competition that's left, they're all bidding on this manufacturers product terms and advertising a different product. In my opinion they also break Google's rules with similar landing pages and display domains that differ from the landing domain.

I've voiced my concerns with Google, but it's like banging your head against a brick wall So be careful if your landing page doesn't follow their guidelines it could only be a matter of time before they shut you down. Usually at a weekend when you're not checking your stats!

Hmmm...isn't there a benchmark nowadays on what is acceptable, considering how common adwords to affiliate landing page is?
