Interesting little twist just in time for the g2g – must be getting harder to decide which ‘hat’ to put on in the morning these days

Good luck and all the best with the new project.

    Cheers

    10/10 for timing.

Good luck with the new venture Matt and Murray
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

I did read this with more than just idle interest, for the company whose web site I manage, need to explore new ways of selling their product. I mentioned to both the owners last week that they really should explore setting up an affiliate scheme.

"Whom do you advise?" Well with six months experience of two schemes (Trade Doubler & Affiliate Window) what sort of meaningful advice could I give about the marketplace?

So an ideal client - if I can persuade them - for the experts. Click on the web site and what do I find? The honest answer has to be, not much!

"We provide a wide range of solutions, each with their own unique strategic, technical and creative challenges"

I know it is early days, but if you launch a business on an ineffective web site, it doesn't say much for your marketing competence!

What I was looking for was two simple things:

    1. What you can do
    2. The cost

The first is simple. The second is less so, but needs to be said. Without clear pricing options, no trade (for that is what it is - a profession comes with maturity) can survive.

I wish you luck, but if you are not to rely on your contacts alone and wish to generate new business (always the most difficult task) you have to effectively sell your wares.

paulatukcamera, I had similar thoughts as to wondering what Matt would offer - seems obvious in a way, the missing link - but these days I see a move towards websites inviting the interested and curious to email in rather than present everything and see them turned off and not know why they left.

If you can capture your audience, invite them in via curiosity and then have the talk and see why they wouldn't move forward then perhaps there's scope to still work with that person after finding out their needs? Maybe... maybe the site really does need more explanation.

Maybe it's just done this way today to invite comment tomorrow? Either way, good luck with it, I have a fantasy that somehow summer is going to be more productinve then ever also but we shall see, I always get carried away but for once it's with substance and it's in my hands rather than an idea with no funds.

It's always good to see a project come to fruition and from a glimpse on TD last week, this would appear to be the first of two babies being born this year. Good luck with both.

Thanks for all the support, its taken a long while to get everything together and I'm really excited to get things really moving over the coming months.

Paul, the website offers merely a glimpse of what we can do, whilst I would love to put every idea online that knowledge is too valuable for all to see!

The website is merely an online business card that enables those interested to get in touch. We can then look at a personalised offering.

Affiliate marketing is not an out of the box solution. What existem affiliate management can offer, and the advice given will vary for each client, no matter what anyone else would tell you.

    Antony - Good point.

We offer a dedicated affiliate management service, where we won’t compete with you - so what does that mean?

Well, for example as an agency (although I prefer not to use that term) we will not conduct any PPC in-house, we will always advise using affiliates as experts in the field rather than taking the best and feeding affiliates the scraps. We won't manage other marketing channels either - we only do affiliate marketing.

We will work on your behalf with networks and merchants at all times to ensure the affiliates view is always put forward, and ensure communication channels are clear.

We will advise you in a timely manner on program developments and opportunities always with honesty and transparency.

As a company we have experience in all areas of affiliate marketing from product feeds, content and reward sites to search and email marketing. This experience can be utilised to help new and existing merchants maximise the potential of their program which will in turn provide greater revenue opportunities for you.

Basically we aim to have the interests of the affiliate at the core of our strategies, whether it is advising on program start-up or full time program management.

    Matthew.

Absolute no-brainer mate - bravo. Would be interested to know the charging models (how do you ensure that your fees don't eat into available affiliate commission).
Can't imagine you losing many pitches though with the position you're in.

    Again, congratulations
