    Clash Media Soap Opera

Anyone else get emails along the lines of ..

A few weeks have passed now since I left Primeq and joined Clash Media in order to pursue my career in the online advertising market. During this period their have been a number of rumors in the market providing conflicting information about myself and the Clash media team.
What rumours? What's it all about? Do I need to know?

I feel like I'm receiving the email equivalent of Lost... unsure what the hell it's about, email is too long to sustain interest, but strangely addictive.#

"conflicting information about myself and the Clash media team"

have to say all the reports I've heard have been pretty consistent regarding the clash media team... and non too positive at that... yet they seem to feel there's no need to clarify the situation

can't see much happening until they do

I seem to have got these emails as well as several from their former employers Prime Q referring to an 'illegal interuption' which is 'being resolved' - all very bizzarre.

Basically, 'Clash media' used to be the Prime Q UK office until they decided to resign and set up on their own. I think they've ticked the Americans off a bit in the process though...

I know one of the guys who works at Clash - he's a decent fella and from what I hear they've got some good people there and should do okay. Not sure what the hoo-ha is all about though as I haven't seen the email but sounds intriguing.

The Affiliate Manager there (who also regularly posts on these forums) is a very excellent dude who I very much trust.

It will be interesting to see how they develop but Affiliate wise I think that they could do quite well and would certainly use them.

Im in the process of setting up 2 merchants with them - I'm getting on really well. If the service I'm getting is the same for affiliates then these guys are going to be a great company to work with. All great so far....

    Hi guys,

I'm the affiliate marketing manager for Clash. I'd like to try and provide a few answers, as it seems our email communications aren't quite hitting the spot

    >> What rumours? What's it all about? Do I need to know?

Not really. Many members of the Clash team did previously work for PrimeQ. We understand that PrimeQ have been sending emails of their own to various people, some of whom are in this thread, with a very different version of events to the one we remember.

I've been talking to Matt about using the A4U board as a platform to communicate with the UK affiliate scene. As yet, we don't feel ready to make the formal announcement, as we still have a few administrative and software issues to clear up before we can start taking on affiliates and merchants in large numbers.

I personally would rather we have everything in place to adequately deal with everyone properly, than have announced ourselves straight away, and have left ourselves with enormous problems dealing with you.

Obviously, if anyone has any pressing concerns, I'd be more than pleased to either answer them here, or at my email address, brendon@clash-media.co.uk.

We will be making an announcement in the next few days, so please, if everyone can bear to bear with us until then, I hope that will make things a bit clearer

I know the guys and girls at Prime Q as well, and I agree they are nice folks. However the systems they had in place were shoddy - no proper tracking in place etc, and the campaigns that I ran with them were so poor that I nearly lost the clients. An 80% rejection rate on an e-mail list? You got it with Prime Q.

To be fair, I probably will have a go with Clash, but would need to be convinced that the Networks were actually running. Its a chicken and egg thing isnt it - you cant get a Network without clients and vice versa. And with the usual smoke and mirrors approach of some Networks whereby they keep details of the websites on board secret just how *do* I know whether they actually have an active Network running when I give them business or whether they are storing my clients to use as enticment to build the Network up?

If they can prove their Network is active and in place, then I'm on board (probably).

Hope that this doesnt sound overly harsh!

Fair comment, I suppose. We will be running several in-house programs (around 20 at launch, I think, plus more coming on over time), so there will be plenty to go at, even at without any other third party progrmams. However, we don't seem to be having too much trouble getting third parties interested either. Once our software is all fully deployed, we will be announcing it.
