For the first time I've just noticed an ad optimization offer. Must be something to do with the 40p I've been bidding in the last few days. Has anybody taken up their advice, has it been profitable?

I already get a decent ctr - 3% (from 36000 impressions) in the 9th 10th position on the first page. After 6 months in the PPC game, I guess I'm a bit sceptical that Google can tell me something new.

I think Kieron had them look at his ads.

After a quick Google, my memory is working:

I assume he blogged again with the results too.

    it is quite clever.

But they are only offering it to 3 out of my 15 campaigns.

The problem if I accept is that on certain keywords they suggest increasing the bid tenfold, which is slightly too risky for me.

Let them optimise it for you; you don't have to accept all of their recommendations, just the ones that you agree to. And when you are giving them your brief just stipulate that you don't want to increase your maximum cpc.

    Cheers!!
