Does anyone offer (or know of anyone) who would offer German to English translation for a fee. Don't need verbatim but have some letters and need to know the gist/instructions that are contained therein.

Not sure whether you should trust Babelfish. Read some really bad Babelfish translations. Probably depends on how important the translation is for you.

Indeed may not be suitable for republishing - but if you want to get the gist of a document it mostly does the trick.
