    Hi,

I wonder if anyone has any advice on this ...

My sales/clicks/uvs were well down yesterday, and on investigating it looks like our google traffic dropped by over 90% yesterday (28/6/2006)

The site is fairly new - 3 months old and has been averaging 500 - 800 unique visitors a day. Yesterday it was 59

I'm hoping that this is a one-off, but todays looking a bit grim so far as well.

As far as I know we have not been penalised and we are not using any tricks or dodgy optimisation.

It really scares me how dependant everyone is on Google.

Google has made some changes check out some of the threads here http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/

My main site which I have had since 1996 has been seriously hit, and this site survived all other algo changes.

Has anyone else been effected. My traffic is down 75%

Unfortunately I don't have a webmaster world login - don't suppose you could copy/paste or summarise for me.

    Thanks,

You don't need to be logged into WMW to view the threads in the Google News forum.

You been lucky imoa that amount of visitors for a site thats only 3 months old
but it could be to do with the big d update that you was getting that much traffic and now it may be that your new site has gone through the big d squeese machine (just as other sites have gone through it) and what your seeing now is what you going to see for a while. If youve signed up to WMW then youll know that your in the same boat as a lot of ppl and many of them have sites that are years old

good luck in all that you try to get your traffic back but i think no matter what you do its a sit and wait thing.

I had a dig around and found the register link and have now registered.

All the links directly from the forum took you to the payment page.

I think that depending on your ISP you may or may not be forced to register before seeing any content. It is all Brett's way of trying to stop bots harvesting the forums content.

Are you visitors coming through natural search or PPC?
