It's nice and easy you add the landing url from the feed after the &url= of that merchants affiliate link from your account.
Hi
Does anyone know how to add the affiliate ID to Affiliate Future links?
for example here is a sample link, how do I add my aff id: http://www.mainlinemenswear.co.uk/pr...eed&xProd=2090
AWIN seems to just include them.
p.s. all th elinks are direct from product feeds.
Thanks!

Sorry Pete I do not understand. Straight from the feed I get the following link (as an example):
http://www.devilwear.co.uk/store/pro...roducts_id=656
This is a direct link to the product. Can you (or someone) please post an example of what the link would look like?
I have looked through the AF site but couldn't find information on this anywhere.
I did find some links from the banner stuff, but didnt know if this method of linking is different to the feed stuff.
Cheers mate

Affiliate Future is easy when using linking methods and Affiliate ID.
1. After joining a programme you will have access to the html for various banners etc. These all have your affiliate ID already incorporated.
Example of 468x60 banner for Cartridge Monkey:
<a href='http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFClick.asp?affiliateID=20507&merchantID=360&progr ammeID=1286&mediaID=5556&tracking=&url='><img border=0 src='http://banners.affiliatefuture.com/360/5556.gif'></a>
Put your mouse over the banner and view the link at the bottom o the page. You will notice the affiliateID=20507 (This is mine - your personal ID would be displayed)
2. ADDING ADDITIONAL TRACKING
You will also notice the words tracking=&url='
If you wish to add your own tracking (for instance if you have the same banner on 2 pages and you want to know which banner gets the most sales or clicks) All you have to do is add a word or description of your choice after: tracking=
For instance if I wanted the Banner on page 1 I may decide to add the tracking of "page1" It would now be: tracking=page1&url=' (this would let me know how many clicks this banner received and i would know it was the banner on page 1. This could equally apply to any amount of banners or pages. This information will then be displayed in your commission reports.
3. LINKING FROM A BANNER TO A SPECIFIC WEBSITE PAGE
Again using the same area of html you will see: tracking=&url='
All you have to do is add the website url you wish the banner to point to after the url=
example: tracking=&url=http://www.cartridgemonkey.com/iripg150a420x2-premium-paper-photo-gloss-150gsm-a4-20pk-bogof/'
When the banner is now clicked it would take you to your chosen web page. Just remember the web address starts after the url=and ends before '
4. GENERAL URL LINKING
at the top of your programme page you will have the following information for every programme you have joined:
You can use the html code below to link to the merchants site.
http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/AFClick.asp?affiliateID=20507&merchantID=360&programmeID=1286&mediaID=0&tracking=&url=
You will notice your Affiliate ID is already in place. You can now add your own tracking if you need it and the chosen website url you wish the banner to point to. A finished product may look like this:
http://scripts.affiliatefuture.com/A...sh-oem-q6614a/
This now has my ID, My additional trackingand the url I want to point to
Put your mouse over the text link and right click your mouse. Select properties and view the complete link
This system also works for text adverts. Again the Generic html code is at the top of each programme page. You can even add your own desired text.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When a banner is clicked your site will normally be re-directed to your chosen link. It is far better that instead of re-directing it opens the link in a new window. To do this is also very simple. If you go back to the html code again:
tracking=&url='
All you have to do is add the following after '
target=_blank
So now it will read: tracking=&url='target=_blank
This will now open the link in a new window which means when the user has finished and closes the link site they will still be on your website.
PRODUCT FEED
When using product feed your ID is already inserted. You also have the option of adding a tracking reference. This This information will then be displayed in your commission reports.
I hope this is of assistance. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask
Thanks
John
Thanks for the very detailed response John. I feel like I could take on the world with that answer.
This isn't the case and is why I am asking the question. My feeds contain links that jump direct to the product on the merchant site. Maybe it's the feeds I am getting (version 1 feeds)? However, affiliate window and Paid On Results feeds do contain the tracking links.Originally Posted by Banner-Traffic
P.s. my links are now tracking!!
Thanks!

It's not as easy as the other networks make it. When you fetch a feed from Affiliate Window, Webgains, Tradedoubler, Commission Junction, Paid on Results etc the tracking link is included in the feed.Originally Posted by pistol101
Why AF don't do this I have no idea, it's something people have been asking for ever since they set up the product feed system.
I'm much more likely to use a product feed from one of AF's competitors because it's much quicker and easier.
I agree Jeff. I find myself using feeds from other networks instead, for ease... instead of faffing around.
AF are losing out big time.
