Can any of you please help a female in distress!! I am trying to create a cashback site and am unsure where and how the tracking ID’s should go and how they work. I have my affiliate links on the site with various networks: Paid on Results, Affiliate Future, Trade Doubler etc. I need to track what sale is from which member, I need to add the members ID to the affiliate URL. How do I do this?

Firstly, does the members ID need to be added to the end of the affiliate tracking code eg,
    http://www.paidonresults.net/c/USER-ID/1/10/HERE?

    Or/and

Does it need to be in the referral URL eg, www.mydomainname.com/HERE?

Finally, if any of these are correct, how should the code be formatted? Should it just be numbers or should it look like this: ?MemberID=19 (even with the question mark included or will this also have an effect?)

    Thanks for any help

Its different for every Affiliate Network, a good starting guide is the following post which gives you the URL format for most Affiliate Networks.

For Paid On Results, lets say the Member ID you wanted to add to an Affiliate URL with us was 1919, then the Affiliate URL would look as follows - simply replacing /0/ with the Tracking ID is all you need to do. This is also the same if you want to deep link - for that use our Deep Link Generator to get an idea on how that works.

So I need to remove the "?MemberID=" and just put "19" (assuming 19 is the member id)

Is this the same for all affiliate URLS?

    Thanks again

In the case of Paid On Results, yes - so in this case you would use 19 and remove the ?MemberID= part. I would also say that is the same for the other Affiliate Networks as well, but the member id would go in different places of the URL depending on the Affiliate Network (see the post I linked to for where to place the id)

    Thanks Graeme,

We added "?MemberID=" and it didnt track the specific member so can i then just ask should there would be a problem if we did add the "?MemberID=" - would it mean the tracking wouldnt work? What about just "MemberID=" would this work?

I have looked at the link and thanks for that.

Can anyone from any other networks advise on this point as well please on your affiliate URLs.

    Thanks
